AETumi Opaline Rift — bilateral memory convergence
A live field study in WebGL. Two woven membranes hang either side of a glowing spine: 840 fibres run from the spine to a flared outer edge, and 1,800 signals ride those fibres inward until the spine absorbs them. Both membranes ripple like cloth while the field moves through five phases, from a dormant rift to a stable one.
Five phases, one field
- Rift dormant → membrane wake → synaptic draw → field convergence → rift stable. The phase, clock and progress rule track a 28-second run; convergence climbs from 0.780 to 0.979.
- Rift spectrum. 44 bands drawn as two travelling humps with gold marker bands, over a live carrier trace.
- Synaptic density and event log. A 15 × 7 density map breathes as the membranes move; the log scrolls one event every 1.4 s.
Real Three.js, still until you touch it
The membranes, fibres, signals, spine and halo are live Three.js. The field holds still; drag it to orbit 360°, double-click to reset, and open ⚙ to switch palettes or change speed, density, signal size and wave depth.
All values are an illustrative simulation — not data from any real system.
